In German-occupied Poland during World War II, industrialist Oskar Schindler gradually becomes concerned for his Jewish workforce after witnessing their persecution by the Nazis. The film follows his transformation from opportunist to humanitarian as he spends his entire fortune to protect his workers from the death camps, ultimately saving over a thousand lives.
